Treasurer helped fund the project under Justice Administration
State Treasurer Larry Pack today released the following statement after attending a groundbreaking ceremony for Vandalia Health’s state-of-the-art Neuroscience Institute in Charleston:
“When I worked as Revenue Secretary for Governor Jim Justice, we worked to get $5 million to Vandalia Health to help fund the construction of this project,” Treasurer Pack said. “It’s exciting to see how our state dollars are being put to good use to improve the quality of our healthcare infrastructure. This money will help patients who need specialized neurological care right here in West Virginia, rather than having to travel out of state. I want to thank the folks at CAMC Foundation and the Elliot Family Foundation for their partnership to get this facility up and running.”
Vandalia Health received a $5 million check from Governor Justice on January 6, 2025 to be put toward the construction of the Vandalia Health Neuroscience Institute. Vandalia Health also received $15 million in federal funds for the project.
The 30,000 square foot facility will be located on Morris Street directly across from the main entrance at Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) General Hospital.
The Neuroscience Center will allow CAMC to combine all of its neuroscience specialists in one space for team-based patient care, educational instruction, research support, patient management, and other critical functions.
