State Treasurer Larry Pack today released the following statement after devastating flooding in Upshur, Lewis, and surrounding counties resulted in at least two deaths:
“It’s heartbreaking to hear about the loss of life during the most recent flooding across West Virginia,” Treasurer Pack said. “Our prayers are with the families impacted by this tragedy. We also pray for our first responders who helped with search and rescue efforts as well as our citizens who lost homes, businesses, or vehicles. As these communities begin the difficult road to recovery, we encourage all West Virginians to come together to support relief efforts and help our neighbors rebuild. Lisa and I will be working with local leaders and emergency officials to asses the needs of these communities and determine how we can best support recovery efforts moving forward.”
